Renewal of Healthy Skepticism?

Perhaps it reflects my personal interests, or perhaps there is a broader trend toward healthy skepticism as a reaction to the rise of Right-Wing Christianity.  This might be a corollary to Newton's third law: for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction.

Richard Dawkins is taking up the "reason over blind faith" cause with his excellent book The God Delusion, which he summarizes on this enlightening video.  I continue to enjoy Mythbusters on TV, and appreciate how it is teaching and demonstrating scientific reasoning to my kids.

And lately I have enjoyed listening to the audio Netcast (via iTunes) of the Skeptics Guide to the Universe, in which the team from the New England Skeptics Society address all sorts of phenomena from a scientific perspective.  While following a link online, I came across this hilarious skit from Fry & Laurie (yes, Hugh Laurie before he was House) about the paranormal and the people who try to mislead us.

Is it just me, or is healthy skepticism a real trend?  I hope the latter, for the sake of our next generations.
